While the term might sound a little odd, but a Sheath style or “sheath overlay style wedding dress means that there is a decorative layer over form fitting dress, usually from the bodice and down to the hemline. It makes a typically straight dress (often empire or narrow style dress) look incredibly soft and more feminine because of the soft flowing layer over the top of the main dress.
